to all those that are dead, the fags are in their beds (2019)

Single Channel Video and Sound.

Born out of a desire to try to sing the separated queer dead back together, to make music for the dead. The melody came from the feelings developed after reading a series of anecdotes of those who made the Australia and NZ AIDS quilt.

In the end, it is a rumination on grief, the weight and emptiness left by it, and filling that up, caring about it and caring for those who have died in my own way.

It is a video and song. It is about grief, emptiness, AIDS, the relationship between queerness and death, and trying to place care where it is due.

Originally Shown on a 45ft Theater Screen.
